Ghanaian Gospel artiste Rose Adjei has expressed her opinion on collaborations between Gospel and secular artists, stating that those who reject such collaborations are ignorant of the Word of God. According to Rose Adjei, some secular artists have a strong covenant with God, despite their genre of music.

In an interview with Nana Romeo Welewele on Okay FM, Rose Adjei cited Kofi Kinaata as an example of a secular artist whose songs are not profane and are full of wisdom. She revealed that she loves working with highlife artists like Kofi Kinaata, appreciating the genre’s focus on life, love, and motivational themes.

Rose Adjei emphasized that Gospel music is a genre, just like highlife, and that collaborations between artists from different genres can be beneficial. “Gospel songs are a genre of music, compared to highlife, which is also a genre of music,” she explained. While acknowledging that learning secular songs would be challenging for her, Rose Adjei believes that such collaborations can help spread the message of Christ to a broader audience.

According to Rose Adjei, those who condemn collaborations between Gospel and secular artists lack a deeper understanding of the gospel. “Those saying it’s bad to collaborate with secular artistes lack a deeper understanding of the gospel because it’s another way of pulling people to Christ,” she stated.
