A young mother shared online how her son returned home from school in the evening looking quite different from the way he left home in the morning.

Instead of the uniform she had dressed him in, a light blue shirt with dark grey shorts, her boy had returned in another uniform, one that did not match his gender.

He had been changed by presumably his teachers, into a long grey pinafore, which is usually worn by female students.

Although the specific reason for the change had not been specified by the mother, many viewers assumed that the boy had soiled his clothes in one way or the other and he had to change.

The school had no choice but to dress him in what was available a clean and neatly pressed oversized girl’s uniform, thankfully the boy looked unharmed.

He appeared thrilled by the dress, reaching out to his mom who came to pick him up in the evening in excitement, looking like he was auditioning for a school play.

The video has garnered amused reactions online, with many netizens speculating on what had happened to his original uniform.
