Head coach of Asante Kotoko SC, Karim Zito has said that hosting their CAF Champions League games at the Accra Sports Stadium will not have any negative impact on his team.
According to Karim Zito, the change in the venue from Kumasi to Accra will not affect his team because Asante Kotoko will shine anywhere in the country.
He made this statement ahead of Asante Kotoko’s home game against Nigerian side Kwara United in the preliminary stage of the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League.
“We are from Kumasi, but we are going to play in Accra. For me, that is an advantage, not a disadvantage.”

“Yes, we may not get the full support from our home fans, but at the end of the day, it is still an away match and that means the next match will also be away. That is the mindset we are going with.”
“There’s nothing you can do if you don’t get what you want. We can’t get everything, so we have to accept it. That is why we have already set our minds that we are going to play in Accra,” Zito told Akoma FM in Kumasi.
Asante Kotoko will host Kwara United in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary game at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 21, 2025.
