Bright Kankam Boadu, sports journalist

Renowned sports journalist Bright Kankam Boadu has strongly criticized some Members of Parliament for their role in the chaos that erupted on the evening of Thursday, January 30, 2025, questioning their integrity and commitment to serving the nation.

The turmoil arose after a heated disagreement between the Majority and Minority caucuses of Parliament over whether the Appointments Committee should proceed with the vetting of ministerial nominees.

The standoff escalated into a physical confrontation, with MPs clashing, resulting in damaged microphones and tables within the chamber.

The incident sparked public outrage, with many citizens and stakeholders condemning the lawmakers for their inability to maintain decorum.

Adding his voice to the growing criticism, Boadu took to social media to lambast the MPs for their misconduct.

In a tweet on X, Boadu expressed his frustration, highlighting how taxpayers would ultimately bear the cost of the damages caused.

“Our MPs! We call them honorable! Smh!!! Sometimes I wonder if these same adults have the moral authority to tell rioting students to stop. After all, they are their role models. These people earn so much from the taxpayer and yet seem to forget who they represent. Now, the cost of all the broken tables and gadgets will be paid for by the ordinary taxpayer—the very people who voted them into Parliament,” he posted.
