Actress cum entrepreneur, Kafui Danku-Pitcher, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) Ghana.

With a career spanning over a decade in the creative arts, tourism, and economic development, the actress seeks to bring a wealth of experience to her new role.

Her expertise includes leadership, creative industry innovation, and strategic policy development.

Kafui Danku-Pitcher’s appointment aims at fostering growth in Ghana’s creative arts industry, empower practitioners, and boost the sector’s contribution to the nation’s GDP.

The appointment, which was announced on February 29, 2025, comes a day after actor James Gardiner was announced as the Deputy Executive Secretary of the NFA.

Together, they have the task to regulate, promote, and develop Ghana’s film industry.

Since 2008, Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been a prominent figure in Ghana’s film industry, both as an actress and a producer.

The actress graduated from the University of Cape Coast with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Classics, she is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Ghana.

Her philanthropic efforts include campaigns against child marriage, support for children with Kwashiorkor, and initiatives like ‘Silence Is Not Golden’, which encourages women to speak out against abuse.

Recognised by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) for advancing women’s roles in politics and economic institutions, the actress empowers start-ups through her Dream Achievers Project.
