Ghanaian teenager Jerry Afriyie continued his impressive loan spell with RAAL La Louvière, delivering a composed performance in their goalless draw against RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League on Sunday.
The 19-year-old lasted the full 90 minutes and produced a disciplined display against one of Belgium’s traditional powerhouses. Up against an Anderlecht side that dominated possession and pressed relentlessly for a breakthrough, La Louvière stood firm with a well-organized defensive setup.
Coach Fred Taquin’s men executed their tactical plan effectively, maintaining a compact shape and remaining patient in their approach. While the hosts enjoyed much of the ball and territorial advantage, clear-cut chances were limited as La Louvière defended resolutely.
Afriyie played a key role in that resistance, contributing defensively and helping his side maintain balance during transitions. His calmness on the ball and willingness to track back added stability to the visitors’ performance.
As the match progressed, La Louvière grew in confidence and ended the contest with a valuable point, with Afriyie once again underlining his growing influence in Belgium’s topflight.
