On Saturday, March 28, 2016, at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, a fierce battle took place in the Highland Boxing Promotions event, organized by highly skilled promoters, Mr. Brico Santig and Mr. Supanat Chanram, featuring championship fights for the WBA Oceania, ABF, and IBO Asia belts. Thirteen pairs of skilled fighters from around the world delivered thrilling matches. The atmosphere was lively and exciting, with Thai and international boxing fans cheering enthusiastically from ringside.

The main event was the WBA Oceania Super Lightweight Championship scheduled for 10 rounds, between Somchai Wongsuwan (5-0, 3KOs), Southeast Asian Games 2023 Gold medalist and Asian championship 2024 Silver medalist, VS former undefeated Brad Morgan (11-1, 10KOs) of Australia. In the first round, Somchai confidently advanced, landing left hooks and right punches to the body and upper body, hindering Morgan’s ability to land blows. Somchai, utilizing his agility and amateur boxing style, capitalized on Morgan’s opportunity, landing a straight left punch to his left eye, causing bleeding. Early in the third round, Somchai continued his speed, unleashing a barrage of left and right punches to Morgan’s face, resulting in further bleeding. Finally, the ringside doctor advised referee to stop the fight and Somchai Wongsuwan was declared the winner by TKO, securing the WBA Oceania 140lb belt.

The co-main event, Dhruv Supeyia (5-1, 5Kos) vs. Peter Msyoka (10-2, 10Kos) for the vacant IBO Asia Cruiserweight championship fight. The show ended surprisingly quickly when Supeyia aggressively attacked his opponent with a series of left hooks to the ribs, forcing Peter to go down for a 10-count in the 2nd round..

The 2nd co-main event, The Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) Featherweight Championship fight was scheduled for 10 rounds between Leboy Atencio (8-1, 5Kos) and former WBA Asia champion Sukpasried Ponphitak (33-25, 23KOs). Sukpasried started his aggression, throwing body shots, but Leboy countered with a right hook followed by a straight right to the body, sending Sukprasert down in the first round. The 2nd round ended with Leboy’s swift movements, landing a right hook followed by a left hook to the body, sending Sukpasried to the canvas for a 10-count.

    Undercards result:
Super Flyweight Jessie Espinas (26-7) scored a 1st round TKO over former IBF world title challenger Komgrich Nantapech (42-20-1).
Heavyweight Hoang Vincent Tran (3-0) scored a 2nd round TKO over Apisit Sangmuang (22-16).
