Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has described the team’s inability to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title as unfortunate.

However, he is happy that the team managed to beat Golden Kick 2-1 in the final of the MTN FA Cup to clinch the silverware and avoid ending the season without a trophy.

“We can’t go trophyless for all the hard work we’ve put in, so I’m very happy.

“We are Asante Kotoko, we can’t go trophyless. We were supposed to win the league, but unfortunately, we didn’t win it. So, we were supposed to do something for my club, so I’m happy we won this FA Cup,” Kwame Opoku told 3Sports after the FA Cup final.

Kwame Opoku starred in the finals of the MTN FA Cup, scoring both goals for Asante Kotoko to overcome Golden Kick.

He impressed with nine goals and two assists after making 17 appearances in the Ghana Premier League.

He is now focused on helping Kotoko to win the league next season.
