Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku may still be sidelined with a serious knee injury, but that hasn’t stopped him from finding joy through music and meaningful recovery steps.
The 21-year-old, currently recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, was seen in a social media video enjoying a new release by Northern music star Fancy Gadam.
The video shows Issahaku singing along and making several playful gestures while vibing to the song.
Off the pitch, however, Issahaku is making encouraging progress.
After months of rehabilitation, the Leicester City winger has finally returned to the grass, engaging in light drills and ball work, his first since undergoing surgery in late 2024.
The former Sporting CP forward sustained the injury during Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Angola in November 2024, where he was forced off at halftime after feeling discomfort in his knee.
Medical tests later confirmed the ACL damage, ruling him out for the rest of the 2023/24 season, a major blow to both Leicester City and the Black Stars.
Before his setback, the former Dreams FC star had featured in 11 league games for Leicester, providing two assists and becoming a key part of the squad under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Now, with the 2025/26 season approaching, Issahaku’s return to light training is a promising sign that he could be fit in time for pre-season.
