Popular dancehall sensation Shatta Wale has hit back at critics accusing him of being involved in fraud.
Shatta Wale has been trending today, June 18, 2025, following news of the arrests of several Ghanaian ‘businessmen’ allegedly involved in romance and inheritance scams.
Among those arrested is Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng, also known as Kofi Boat, who is reported to be a business associate of Shatta Wale.
This development has led many social media users to speculate about Shatta Wale‘s possible involvement in the matter.
However, in a video posted on social media, Shatta Wale strongly dismissed the speculations, insisting he was being unfairly targeted.
Shatta Wale asserted that he is “clean” and that the accusations stem from envy and comparisons with other artists who have not attained his level of success.
“You people are watching my life, and anytime there is an issue in Ghana, you like to drag me into it.
“You guys are making a mistake with my name. I am a very clean boy. Just because your artiste, your industry favourite, cannot pull the kind of things I can pull, you assume I am into fraud. You are free to tell people I am into fraud.
“One thing the white people coming here do is that they research. They are not stupid. They saw my Rolls-Royce and knew how I acquired the funds to purchase it. It’s music money. It’s not fraud; it’s hard work and dedication. So don’t make a mistake,” he said.
