A shocked Aussie flier has revealed chocolate Tim Tams are being given to Air Canada passengers, after they were handed one on a flight to Vancouver.
The surprising find was included in his in-flight meal as a sweet treat – and gave the jetsetter a much-appreciated taste of home with as many as they could eat for free.
The traveller posted a photograph on Reddit of the biscuit from his airline passenger seat, and joked: ‘I think I ate like 60 bucks worth.
‘The ticket to Vancouver was $1000, but I can see someone making that up in free Tim Tams, or taking them all back to sell again. Possible future side hustle?’
Fellow Australians were surprised to see the Tim Tams being offered on a foreign airline and so easily available overseas.
But one Canadian revealed: ‘Tim Tams are widely available in Canada.
‘You can easily find them at IGA or Metro in Quebec; Loblaws or Sobeys elsewhere in Canada.’
While Arnotts, the maker of Tim Tams, is now owned by US-based food giant Campbell’s, the biscuits themselves are still proudly made in Australia.

The biscuits are also officially sold by Arnott’s in stores across the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Indonesia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
Packaging for some of the Tim Tams sold in America include the slogan ‘Australia’s Favorite Cookie’.
One Reddit user suggested Australia should ‘…do what France did to champagne. They can only be called Tim Tams if they’re made in the Tim Tam region of Newcastle’.
Another added: ‘Australia needs to nationalise Tim Tams from Arnott’s…for national security.’
One eagle-eyed user also spotted a portion of Bega cheese in the image and joked that its presence was proof of ‘Commonwealth countries banding together’.
