Ghanaian gospel musician Piesie Esther has opened up about her initial dislike for social media and how her perception has evolved over time.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on October 19, 2025, Piesie Esther admitted that she once believed social media platforms were associated with negativity and unholy activities, which made her avoid them completely.

“I knew that I was working but people were saying I’ve laid low. I was wondering why they were saying I was silent. I got to understand that it’s because I wasn’t active on social media.

“I used to say social media was for maame wata. Some of the things that were going on were beyond me so I was never interested in social media” she said.

The award-winning gospel singer noted that she has now come to understand the importance of social media in promoting her work and connecting with fans.

“I wasn’t posting anything, I wasn’t doing anything for people to see daily activities and for them to know I was actively recording music” she stated.

When asked what changed her mindset about social media, she said her mindset began to change as she grew older and more experienced in the industry.

“When you hear of some things, you get to think about it thoroughly and I’ve grown to understand it better” she added.
