CEO of Angel Group of Companies, Dr. Kweku Oteng

CEO of the Angel Group of Companies, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, has shared an inspiring story of his entrepreneurial journey, revealing that his road to success began in a carpentry workshop.

In an interview on Angel FM, Dr. Oteng recounted how, in 1995, while working as a carpenter making household furniture, he launched Angel Cream.

“I started in the ’90s with Angel Cream. I was actually a carpenter when I started. I was into furniture making, room dividers, wardrobes, and all kinds of furniture. I was into that,” he recalled.

With limited resources, Dr. Oteng said he took to the streets of Kumasi, hawking the cream from market to market during his free time.

He described the challenges he faced, including being chased away from homes, but emphasized his persistence.

“There was no house in Kumasi that I didn’t enter. It got to a point that people started chasing me out of their houses. But I kept on selling, day and night,” he said.

Despite these challenges, Dr. Oteng credits Angel Cream as the stepping stone to his current success.

Starting the business with his wife and child, he said he gradually expanded, employing workers as the business flourished.

“That cream helped me a lot. It was a stepping stone to where I am now. I started it with my wife and child, and later, when the business was booming, I employed workers and started branching out until I got to where I am now,” he said.
