MzGee says she’s sick of the toxic behaviour of online users who insult her under her content

Media personality MzGee has lashed out at critics who constantly urge her to ignore negative comments on social media, insisting that some people simply “need to be put in their place.”

Speaking on her Gee O’clock show, the celebrated broadcaster expressed her frustration over the toxic behavior of some online users who post insulting or condescending remarks under her content, only to turn around and police her reactions.

“I get sick and tired of people coming and saying, ‘leave them, you shouldn’t respond.’ Like sometimes, people need to be put in their place,” MzGee fumed.

She questioned why anyone would follow personalities they do not like just to hurl insults at them, describing it as a deeply disturbing trend.

“How do you take your own phone, buy data, go online, and follow people you don’t even like, just to post trash? How do you even breathe?” she asked in disbelief.

MzGee explained that her presence on social media is not only for personal engagement but also part of her professional responsibility as an entertainment journalist.

She follows celebrities and entertainment figures to monitor trends, gather content, and stay informed, not because she always supports or agrees with them.

She took issue with those who demand that public figures must “be the bigger person” and endure online abuse in silence. To her, respect is reciprocal, and silence is not always the best response.

“I’m somebody people know. That doesn’t mean I don’t have blood flowing through my veins. If you come and write trash on my page, be prepared, I will give it to you back-to-back,” she warned.

MzGee admitted that while she blocks offensive users, many return with ghost accounts to continue their harassment. For her, responding directly is sometimes necessary to shut down toxicity before it escalates.

“When you don’t respond, others follow the trash. Sometimes I just feel like telling them my piece of mind. I don’t always want to be the bigger person. I’m sorry,” she added.

MzGee further called out those who claim to be “disappointed” in her responses.

“Take your disappointments elsewhere. If you don’t want me responding, stop coming on my page with trash.”
