The grandmother of legendary Ghanaian Highlife musician Daddy Lumba has sparked online discussions following a bold statement she made when the family appeared before the Saamanhene of the Asantehene’s Traditional Council.
On November 10, 2025, the Lumba family appeared before the Saamanhene after the musician’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, invoked Otumfuo’s “Ntam Kese” against the family head, Kofi Owusu.
Following their third appearance, a video involving the late musician’s grandmother has gone viral after she was seen publicly disowning Odo Broni, who is said to be Lumba’s second wife.
In the video, the grandmother stated that she does not recognise Odo Broni as the widow of the late musician.
“Akosua Serwaa is the only person he married. If you go and have an affair with a prostitute and the rightful owner comes for it, what can you say? Which wife? Akosua Serwaa is the only person I know,” she said.

The grandmother further noted that she is ever ready to welcome any child the late Daddy Lumba had outside his marriage with Akosua Serwaa.
“I am ever ready to receive any child from Kwadwo,” she added.
She expressed confidence that Akosua Serwaa, the musician’s first wife, would give her a befitting burial when she passes on.
According to her, Akosua Serwaa gave Daddy Lumba’s mother, Ama Saah, a dignified burial, and she is certain she would do the same for her.
“The way she buried Ama Saah, that is the same way she will bury me when I am no more. Whoever says she didn’t attend Ama Saah’s burial will have her mouth twisted.
“Even when Akosua Serwaa’s mother passed away, Kwadwo was abroad, but we still went to perform the burial rites. So what shows she is not his wife?” she added.
