Ghanaian songstress Efya Nokturnal has indicated that she is not perturbed by the pressure she receives from music lovers to retire from the music industry.
In an interview with GhanaWeb’s Issac Dadzie at the Bhim Fest on December 22, 2024, Efya indicated that she is passionate about music, and because music is her source of income, she is not backing off from music anytime soon.
“I really love what I do; it is my source of livelihood, and that is my purpose. I found my purpose early in life so sometimes people will say that you have been doing it for a very long time but it is not a very long time. Because I am still alive and I just entered my thirties, I can do it for thirty more years. Sometimes, when people call me an old geezer, I say I have not even done the things I want to do, which makes me an old geezer. I am excited for the future and especially for my development and growth,” she said.
Efya further advised fellow musicians not to be worried about the pressure they receive from netizens on why they have not won a Grammy Award.
“I believe that everybody has a different life journey, but you know the fans are there to make comments to either encourage you or trigger you to say something that would become an exciting conversation on the internet. I think they should be careful about how to respond to these things and not take it personally. You know the Grammys are not going anywhere,” she added.
Efya Nokturnal has been in the music industry for over a decade. The musician has numerous hit songs to her credit.
She has songs such as “Best In Me,” “Forgetting Me, “One of Your Own,” and many others.
