The Black Stars X handle went viral following a post it made after the Super Eagles of Nigeria were booted out of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Minutes after the Democratic Republic of Congo had eliminated Nigeria in a 4-2 penalty shootout, an interesting post that caught the attention of the football world popped up on the internet.

The video shows the Black Stars players celebrating their qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the locker room, with players cheering each other on.

Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo held up a camera, gesturing as if taking pictures, then moved closer and said, “Come on guys, 26… err, vamos, let me record, vamos.”

In the video, Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu also were spotted dancing together to an amapiano song while other players cheered them on.

The video sparked reactions from Nigerians, who felt they were being ridiculed, while Ghanaians applauded the administrator for making such a subtle jab at their arch-rivals.

While Ghana missed out on the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Nigeria will participate; however, the Black Stars will feature in the highly anticipated World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
