Ghanaian socialite Samuel Safo, popularly known as Showboy, has opened up on the fallout between him and musician Criss Waddle.

He stated that their disagreement was centred on business.

In an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the ‘Delay Show’ on November 23, 2024, Showboy explained that he felt betrayed after Waddle took a percentage of money from their car deal without his knowledge.

“Criss Waddle cheated me in business. I used to sell cars, and one of our boys asked me to buy a car for him. After shipping the car to Ghana, Criss Waddle went behind my back and took a percentage of the money without telling me,” Showboy said.

He added that he was particularly upset because everything related to the deal, including the license to operate, was his own.

“I got pissed because it was all my money. Even the license I was using to operate was mine. So I didn’t understand why he did that, and that’s what caused our fallout. Up until now, I still don’t understand why he did that.”

Despite the fallout, Showboy acknowledged the support Criss Waddle had given him in the past, especially during a time when he was facing jail time.

“Oh, Kwaku (Criss Waddle) helped me, and I can’t deny that. There was a time when I wasn’t working, and he paid my rent and bills. He even helped me when I wanted to smoke. But what got me angry was that he didn’t make full payment when we had to pay my lawyer,” Showboy revealed.

He also expressed frustration over what he saw as an imbalance in their relationship.

“He was the reason I was arrested, and on the streets, he’s like my family so he needed to help me. That’s how it works on the streets. I had to fund him when he had no money. Now that he has money, he should fund me because that’s how the street works. I’m also one of the reasons he’s making all that money.”

Background

Criss Waddle and Showboy had been friends for over eight years and had a close working relationship.

Their bond was often witnessed on social media, especially in 2016, when their AMG music group was thriving, and Waddle released his popular song “Bie Gya,” featuring Stonebwoy.

However, their friendship came to an end after so many unresolved issues.
