Head Coach of West Ham United, Julien Lopetegui, has urged Ghanaian forward, Mohammed Kudus, to control his temperament after being shown a red card in the game against Tottenham.
He stated that he would blame Kudus’ frustration on the poor results the Black Stars recorded during the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan, drawing one and losing the return leg.
Lopetegui advised Kudus to put his frustration aside, focus on his footballing career, and improve his disciplinary level to avoid getting booked further.
“I think that he brings his frustration with his national team too, because they lost and drew their matches and that was bad. He has to improve his temperament because this can’t happen.
“I am sure this will be the last time it happens. The only way to handle frustration is to focus on the match because these kinds of behaviours ruin the match. He will learn from this incident and his behaviour will be better in the future,” he said as reported by 3news.com.
Kudus was sent off in West Ham’s 4-1 defeat to Tottenham following a scuffle in the game.
The Black Stars forward has been charged by the English FA for misconduct and is set to miss three matches for his club due to receiving a direct red card.
