Mr. Drew is living up to his Lover Boy era persona, but he wants to see more love coming his way too!

The singer, who recently released his new EP, opened up about his Valentine’s Day surprises and shared an unexpected heartbreak story from his release party.

Speaking with AJ Sarpong on 3FM, monitored by MyNewsGh, Mr. Drew admitted that while he enjoys giving thoughtful gifts, he rarely receives any in return.

“I sent PR packages and flowers. A lot of pink flowers. A very big bouquet,” he revealed. “I actually sent them days before Valentine’s and asked, ‘Would you be my Valentine?’”

But when asked about the best gift he has received on Valentine’s Day, he laughed and said, “For now, a massage. That was it.”

He jokingly called on Ghanaian ladies to do better. “Girls, you people have to let me enjoy small. I give, but I don’t really receive. Ghana girls, we have to do better,” he said, playfully addressing his female fans.

Interestingly, Valentine’s Day at his EP release party had its own drama. Mr. Drew recounted a story of a guest who left heartbroken after seeing his supposed love interest with another man.

“One of the guys from the gym told me he came to the party and saw the girl he thought he had something with, but she was there with someone else. He was so heartbroken that he left early,” Mr. Drew shared.

He added that the guy might have even invited the lady, only for her to show up with another person. “Maybe he even sent her flowers earlier, and she still went with someone else!” he exclaimed.

The Lover Boy Era EP features six tracks, including OMG featuring Olive The Boy, which Mr. Drew described as a song about unspoken love and heartbreak.

“Sometimes, you have a crush, and in your head, you’re already dating them. Then you realize they’re actually falling for someone else. That’s the vibe of OMG,” he explained.
