A team from Bukom Boxing Gym, alongside selected members of Ghana’s national boxing side, the Black Bombers, has departed Accra for France as part of the “Road to France 2026” project—an exchange programme aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries.

The delegation is led by head coach King David Neequaye, popularly known as “Hamattan Bird,” with assistant coach and media officer Augustus Dodoo, also known as “Onelife,” playing a key supporting role. The team left Ghana full of determination and pride, with a clear ambition to make a significant impact during their stay in France.

The Bukom Boxing Gym, widely regarded as a cradle of Ghanaian boxing talent, carries the hopes of a nation as the boxers embark on this international journey. The initiative has received backing from Base Pharmacy and Cartel Events, while institutional support comes from the Ghana Boxing Federation, the National Sports Authority, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment.

According to Dodoo, the trip represents more than just boxing, describing it as a step toward excellence, unity, and global recognition.
