The state of Massachusetts has sparked fury for releasing migrants accused of horrific crimes and refusing to keep them detained for immigration authorities.
The sanctuary state allowed illegal immigrants accused of crimes ranging from child rape to drug trafficking to walk free in an act of defiance against President Trump’s executive orders.
Trump’s border czar Tom Homan revealed last month he counted ‘nine child rapists that were in jail in Massachusetts’ who were released before ICE could detain them.
Homan’s revelation sparked fury among voters who said authorities in charge of sanctuary cities ‘should be locked up’ for allowing criminals to roam freely.
Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. was incensed by the revelation. On X, he said: ‘So in Democrat controlled Massachusetts, illegal immigrants charged with child rape can be released on only $500 bail.
‘WTF is wrong with these people!??? This is the dangerous BS happening in Dem run sanctuary states.’
Another critic said ‘no city should be protecting criminals over its own people.’
‘Arrest Governor Healy and Mayor Wu, too! Put them in the cell with all of their buddies,’ a third added, while another insisted all money should be ‘cut to sanctuary cities and States.’

Honduran national Juan Alberto Rodezno-Marin had been tracked down by ICE after being released without bail in December. He had been charged with assault to rape and indecent assault and battery of a person above the age of 15
In Massachusetts, along with other sanctuary states across the nation, authorities are not permitted to let Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials know when a prisoner who is illegally in America is being released from custody.
Trump’s executive order stated federal funding could not be used to facilitate any sanctuary policies that would ‘seek to shield illegal alients from deportation.’
It comes amid his efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and conduct the largest mass deportation scheme the United States has ever seen.
But Homan savaged sanctuary cities for standing in the way of Trump’s grand plan, insisting: ‘They would rather release these animals back into the community rather than honor ICE detainers or notify ICE when they are scheduled to be release.
‘Releasing public safety threats back into the public, rather than working with ICE at the jails, puts the public at great risk.’
ICE last week conducted a state-wide raid which resulted in the arrests of 370 illegal migrants – some of whom had been previously released on bail despite their immigration status.
Homan revealed on Monday that many of the arrested individuals were ‘significant criminals.’
‘These arrests included 6 foreign fugitives, including four who were wanted for murder or to serve a criminal sentence for murder, along with drug traffickers, child sexual predators and numerous other violent public safety threats,’ he said.

Guatemalan national Stivenson Omar Perez-Ajtzalan, 19, was caught by ICE in January. He had been charged with aggravated child rape and also released on a $7,500 bond

They arrested Guatemalan citizen Jose Fernando-Perez, 49, in February, revealing he had posted a $7,500 bail after being charged with three counts of raping a child by force. He had pleaded not guilty
‘These officers and agents made the neighborhoods of Boston and Massachusetts much safer. They risked their own safety by arresting these criminals on the street, rather than a jail.’
Since vowing to ‘bring hell to Boston’ in a mammoth ICE crackdown, Homan’s team have set about hunting down the state’s worst-of-the-worst illegal immigrants.

In Worcester County Jail, two illegal immigrant inmates charged with child rape had their bail set to just $500 in the last six months alone. Both were picked up by ICE.

ICE has been conducting nationwide raids as Trump and his border czar Homan look to rid the nation of illegal immigrants
‘This should result in local DA / judges/ mayor / law enforcement being CHARGED / JAILED,’ a concerned resident said.
Others said Homan was proving to be ‘Trump’s top pick’ for any portfolio across government.
Lewis Evangelidis, Sheriff for Worcester County, said the process was flawed and limited the ability of officers who want to assist and keep criminals off the streets.
‘It’s very frustrating for me,” Evangelidis told CBS. ‘Most people would not think that’s an appropriate bail.’
‘I might have a drug trafficker or a violent offender getting bailed out of here, and I call ICE, and they’re like, ”We’re busy with a couple situations, we can’t get there for a few hours.” I can’t hold them.’
Homan said in his Monday statement that he made a commitment to target Boston ‘after reading about numerous illegal alien child rapists walking the streets.’
‘ICE had to find and arrest these illegal alien rapists because Massachusetts and Boston are sanctuaries that refuse to cooperate with ICE.’
‘President Trump’s ‘all of government effort’ to arrest and remove the WORST FiRST is making our communities safer every day. President Trump is a Game Changer.’
It also comes just days after Boston’s Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu sparked outrage for comments she made about immigrants at a ‘State of the City’ address.
Wu told immigrants of Boston that all immigrants ‘belong here.’
‘No one tells Boston how to take care of our own, not kings, and not presidents who think they are kings. Boston was born facing down bullies,’ Wu said, referencing Trump.
