The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) held its annual National Tourism Awards at the Osu Castle Gardens on October 25, 2024, under the theme “Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector.”
The event was attended by dignitaries, including the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon. Egypa Mercer, and Deputy Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey.
Also present were the GTA Board Chairman and members, along with GTA CEO Mr. Akwasi Agyeman and Deputy CEOs Mr. Ekow Sampson (Operations), Hon. Seth Adjei Baah (Board Chairman), and Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah (General Services).
Leaders from diplomatic circles, industry professionals, and agency heads under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture were also in attendance.
Former Minister for Tourism, Hon. Florence Oboshie Sai Cofie, now Senior Media Advisor to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, served as Chairperson for the occasion and received a special award.
The awards featured 26 categories, including 5-Star Hotel of the Year, Night Club of the Year, and Local Chop Bar of the Year, among others.
