The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has approved the issuance of a Ghanaian passport to American streamer and content creator IShowSpeed.

In a social media post on January 27, 2026, the Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, stated that the approval followed discussions with Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya and subsequent confirmation of IShowSpeed’s “irrefutable ties” to Ghana.

“I am pleased to inform you and our compatriots that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has approved the issuance of a Ghanaian passport to IShowSpeed,” the Minister stated.

He encouraged the American streamer to continue promoting Ghana and Africa on the global stage, describing him as a worthy ambassador whose influence extends beyond entertainment.

The Minister also acknowledged others who have positively represented Ghana, noting that diplomatic passports had previously been issued to individuals he described as ambassadors of Ghana and the African continent.

“Keep making our great nation Ghana, and our beloved African continent proud. Ghana celebrates you both, you remain our worthy ambassadors, and we are ever so delighted to have granted you a diplomatic passport last year,” he added.
