Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam has taken to social media to express his grievances over what he describes as a lack of respect from the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) towards creatives in the music industry.
In a post shared on social media on December 15, 2025, Fancy Gadam noted that GHAMRO has failed to honour the hard work and creativity of musicians.
According to the artiste, despite countless sleepless nights and huge sums of money spent on recording and promotion, creatives are still not treated with the value they deserve.
I don’t like being tagged as ‘King of the North’ – Fancy Gadam
“GH¢123.82 for creativity, sleepless nights, studio bills, promotions, and years of hard work. This is not just a notification; it’s a loud question mark on how our music is valued and how creatives are treated,” he said.
Fancy Gadam further noted that passion alone cannot pay bills, urging GHAMRO to improve its systems and support for musicians.
“We keep creating because we love the art. But love alone shouldn’t be the payment. GHAMRO, you can do better,” he added.
