Exploring the economy of skit making in Ghana

While many have a lot to say about the entertainment industry in the country, an overlooked sector seems to be doing well for itself.

Short comedy videos, also known as ‘Skits’ are gradually gaining prominence in the country and have become an outstanding source of entertainment among many on social media.

Tonight, Friday, August 29, 2025, at 6pm on GhanaWeb’s X Space, hosts Isaac Dadzie and Joseph Henry Mensah are exploring the story of skit making in Ghana.

Industry players such as Jeffery Nortey, Nicholas Tetteh Nortey, and Comedian Waris will also be joining to share their stories, insights, and visions for the future.

The discussion will look at the beginnings, the rise of skit making, the role of social media and the economic impact of skit making in Ghana.
