Ghanaian actor and playwright George Quaye has weighed in on the ongoing corruption controversies involving some high-ranking Ghanaian officials, urging public servants to uphold integrity while in office.
In a Facebook post dated October 31, 2025, Quaye reminded public officers that serving the nation is a privilege that should not be abused for personal gain.
“Serving your country should be an honour! An honour that comes with a lot of pressure because everyone will come to you with one problem or the other expecting magic! Please DO NOT let that pressure push you to ‘steal’ from the state!” he wrote.

He emphasised that, ultimately, history will remember individuals for their names and actions, not their wealth or status.
“When all is done, the only thing that will be left… the only thing history will record and recall is your name. Someday, when that name is mentioned, what will people remember? Twa!” he added.
Quaye’s comments come in the wake of recent charges by the Office of the Special Prosecutor and the Attorney General against several former heads of state institutions and their spouses for alleged corruption and causing financial loss to the state.
Those reportedly implicated include former Buffer Stock CEO Abdul-Wahab Hanan Aludiba, former National Service Secretariat Director Assibey Antwi, his deputy Gifty Oware, and the former National Signals Bureau boss, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, who have been accused of syphoning millions of Ghana cedis for personal gain and acquiring properties in various parts of the country.
