Fan culture has become a powerful force in the creative space, and one person who embodies that movement within Rapper Sarkodie’s fanbase is Dogbatsey Emmanuel, known online as Don Sarkcess, an ardent supporter of the rapper.
According to Don Sarkcess, fans can get noticed by artistes if they dedicate themselves to promoting their work through what he calls a “social media rollout.”
He explained that this includes promoting the artiste’s music online, buying tickets, attending shows, streaming songs, and sharing their content on social platforms.

Speaking on GhanaWeb’s X Space on October 31, 2025, Don Sarkcess shared that these strategies were what helped him gain Sarkodie’s attention years ago.
“Somewhere in 2014, we started this whole social media craze of coming online to promote the artiste, buying his tickets and streaming his songs, going to his shows and promoting him on our socials and all of that. When you start with that kind of rollout or journey, you’re bound to be noticed by people or probably the artiste that you support,” he said.
Don Sarkcess explained that artistes notice many people who promote their work online, but what makes certain fans stand out is consistency and how their behaviour aligns with the artiste’s brand.
“The thing with most artistes is not just noticing their fans alone. When they come on socials and they see a couple of people promote them, if you’re becoming consistent and the way you speak and the way you move aligns with their brand, that’s when they endorse you,” he stated.
He further disclosed that his dedication and approach eventually earned him recognition from Sarkodie, who now sees him as part of his brand.
“I got the opportunity for Sark to endorse me in many ways because I go according to the way he likes his brand. If there are things that Sark doesn’t like, you will not find me doing them because I’m part of his brand,” he added.
