A neighbhourhood has been left up in arms after a woman was caught defecating in a stranger’s backyard.

The middle-aged woman, dubbed ‘Krapping Karen’, was caught with her pants down, by an angry Sydney homeowner.

Frustrated after discovering faeces in their yard, the home-owner installed CCTV cameras.

They posted a notice to a tree outside their home featuring a photo and a message directed to the phantom pooper.

‘ATTENTION LADY?!’ the notice read.

‘Please stop pooping in my backyard! My grandchildren play there! It’s disgusting! This is not the first time! I have cameras everywhere because of you! So please stop!’

Another concerned resident shared the notice on Reddit.

‘Rather strange poster on a tree,’ the caption read.

Social media users were quick to blast the woman with one giving her the nickname ‘Krapping Karen’.

‘She’s a runner,’ one wrote.

‘This is super common, wake up first thing get on the sneakers off for a run half way along nature calls and you pull over for a strategy sh*t and then on your way again.’

‘I honestly understand it as a one off but more than that you have to look at yourself and think ‘seriously?’ a second wrote.

‘WTF is wrong with people?! Seriously!’ another added.

‘Or at least think to bring dog poo bags. It’s not like they’re expensive. Heck some parks give them out for free!’ a fourth wrote.

Another claimed she was a ‘close friend of the Paddington poo jogger’.

This was in reference to the infamous ‘Paddington Pooper’ case of 2019.

PR maven Roxy Jacenko shared shocking CCTV footage to Instagram of a female  defecating outside her Sweaty Betty PR office on Watson Street in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The message left by a Marrickville homeowner on a fence outside their garage to stop a mystery person from pooing on their property

She uploaded videos of the woman running behind a car, pulling down her pants and relieving herself on two separate occasions.

‘It’s disgusting, it’s a lovely street lined with heritage terraces, kids playing and riding their bikes,’ Ms Jacenko later told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Human faeces shouldn’t be on any street. Something needs to be done.’

In 2020 a jogger was caught on CCTV footage as he defecated on a kerbside community garden just 50 metres away from a public toilet in the inner-city Melbourne suburb of Albert Park.

There was another case in Marrickville in Sydney’s inner-west the same year when a note was attached to a fence: The note reads: ‘Dear Mystery Human Poo-er, we have installed this fence and a camera to handover to the police.

‘We understand that Covid is tough on everyone but please stop s**ting on our garage.

‘Also make sure you chew your food better and whatever it is that makes it sticky I’d get that checked.’

In NSW, defecating in public is covered under the Summary Offences Act – offensive behaviour.

A Criminal Infringement Notice can be issued which carries a penalty of $500.

Depending on the circumstances, police could also charge the offender.

A NSW Police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia they ‘will not be making any statements regarding phantom poopers’.
