Davido Gh and the petition

Popular Ghanaian entrepreneur and music executive, David Mensah, popularly known as Davido GH, has shared a copy of a letter penned to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, petitioning the body to investigate Showboy.

In a post shared on Snapchat on January 30, 3036, he posted the petition addressed to the CID on January 28, accusing Showboy, real name Sam Kwabena Safo, of blackmail and harassment.

According to the letter, David alleged that Showboy had been harassing him for three years now by allegedly using his social media platforms and live streams to launch attacks against him and make false claims.

Showboy allegedly arrested

In the letter, David further accused Showboy of blackmail, explaining that the musician, who doubles as a blogger, has threatened to post ‘personal pictures’ of him.

“For the past three (3) years, an Individual named Kwabena Sarto, popularly known as Showboy, who also self-identifies as a blogger, has continuously used his social media platforms and live streams to make false, malicious, and damaging statements against me. He has repeatedly and falsely linked my name to fraudulent activities and criminal cases, which are completely untrue.

“The said individual has also blackmailed me on several occasions. Whenever I refuse to comply with his threats, he proceeds to post my personal images online and publicly insult me,” he wrote.

David also claimed that Showboy allegedly harassed his partner and subjected her to cyberbullying and insults from his followers.

“My partner has been directly targeted by his abusive conduct. He has publicly insulted and bullied her on social media, used highly offensive and defamatory language against her, including calling her a prostitute, and ridiculed her music career. These actions amount to severe cyberbullying and harassment,” he added.

He therefore called on the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to investigate the matter, stating that he fears for the safety and mental wellbeing of both himself and his partner.

“I humbly plead for the intervention of the CID to investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary legal action to protect me, my partner, and my family from further harassment, blackmall and defamation.

“I am fully prepared to cooperate with your office and provide all required evidence, including screenshots, recordings, links to posts, and a detailed timeline of incidents,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, videos circulating on January 30, 2026, captures Showboy being picked up by heavily armed CID officials at his residence during a TikTok livestream.
