Denise Lady Ama Saah Fosu, the first daughter of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has invited fans and the general public to her father’s funeral scheduled for December 13, 2025.
She made the announcement in a video recorded at the musician’s East Legon residence after arriving in Ghana on November 30, 2025.
In the video, Denise appears in mourning cloth, seated beside an elderly man, with two of her siblings, children of Lumba’s second wife, Odo Broni, standing behind her.

Speaking on behalf of the family, she said, “Hello, my name is Denise Lady Ama Saah Fosu, the eldest daughter of the late Charles Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba. I’m here, representing my entire family today. We’d like to kindly invite you to my father’s funeral which will take place on the 13th December in Kumasi. We wish all well-wishers and mourners to join us to celebrate his life.”
The final funeral rites of Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, was recently moved from the initially announced December 6 date to December 13.
The change followed a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, where a new funeral committee chaired by Dadiesoabahene was appointed to oversee preparations.
During the meeting, Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Akosua Brempomaa, called for a postmortem, raising concerns about possible foul play in her brother’s death.
She also requested that the burial and funeral be delayed until the results are released to confirm the cause of death.
