The family head (abusuapanin) of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a strong warning to the musician’s two widows, Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni, urging them to stop disgracing their late husband with their ongoing feud.

Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025, left behind not only a musical legacy but also a complex family situation.

The celebrated artist was married to both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni, with whom he had children.

Since his death, tensions between supporters of the two women have spilled onto social media, sparking heated debates over who should be recognised as the singer’s legitimate widow.

The rivalry escalated when Odo Broni appeared to endorse a relative’s disparaging remarks about Akosua Serwaa, while an alleged sister of Akosua Serwaa also fired back in a viral video.

In a TikTok video shared by KontonKyi Media on September 9, 2025, the family head, Kofi Owusu, intervened, calling for calm.

He stressed that the family, and not outsiders, would determine who would officially be recognised as Lumba’s widow during his funeral rites.

“The family will decide who is the legitimate widow. It could be Akosua Serwaa, Odo Broni, or even both,” Owusu stated.

He revealed that the feud had already caused challenges during Lumba’s one-week observance and pleaded with the women to protect the dignity of their late husband.

Owusu also cautioned both widows against allowing their associates to inflame tensions with derogatory comments.

“Now what we’re hearing is that this one has a gang, and the other also has a gang. We don’t have any gang. So if you’ve employed gangs to fight for you and are disgracing your late husband, then it’s to your own shame,” he warned.

The family head’s intervention comes as preparations intensify for Daddy Lumba’s final funeral rites, where unity and decorum are expected to honour the memory of the highlife icon.
