Ghanaian gospel musician and evangelist Cecilia Marfo has expressed disappointment over what she describes as “neglect” by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM on November 6, 2025, Marfo claimed that her campaign song significantly boosted the party’s votes in the 2024 elections.
“There are many people who wouldn’t have voted for the NDC in 2024, but because of my song, many people voted for the party,” she said.
Despite her contribution, she added, she has received no recognition or support.
Marfo also described her current situation, revealing that she is still using the same old vehicle for her rounds.
“I have been using my old, dilapidated car ever since. I am even shy to go out with it. Sometimes when I go out, I park the car far away,” she said.

She further said her attempts to meet the president have been thwarted.
“Since they came into power, I haven’t been able to see my daddy Mahama. Anytime I try to get close, security and other aides prevent me. It feels like I have been neglected,” she said.
Marfo also disclosed that during the campaign season, she prayed intensely for Mahama and even composed her song specifically for him.
“I even prayed for him through a song I composed for him. I got a lot of enemies because of that,” she said.
Despite her efforts to support the NDC, Marfo says she has heard nothing in return.
“But I haven’t heard from them since. Anytime I go out with my car, people tell me to ask Mahama for a new one. I tell them to ask him on my behalf because I can’t reach them,” she said.
