Super welterweight contender Brian “La Bala” Mendoza is making waves once again after a hard-hitting interview on the “Drew & Pris Uncensored” podcast, where he openly challenged WBC World Champion Sebastian Fundora and demanded another title shot.
During the no-holds-barred conversation with co-hosts Andrew Bocanegra and Priscilla Arguello, Mendoza didn’t mince words when discussing his previous bout with Fundora — a stunning 2023 knockout that sent shockwaves through the boxing world.
“I knocked Fundora into another planet — and that’s something he just can’t forget,” Mendoza declared. “He knows what happened, and deep down, he knows it can happen again.”
When pressed by host Bocanegra on whether he should be the one facing Fundora next, Mendoza didn’t hesitate. “Absolutely. But let’s be real — Fundora is scared of me,” he said. “He keeps avoiding me. He knows I’m a threat to that belt, and I’m not going anywhere.”
Mendoza’s comments come just weeks before Fundora is set to defend his WBC Super Welterweight Title against former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman on October 25, 2025, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
While Fundora (21-1-1, 15 KOs) looks to solidify his reign as champion, Mendoza (22-4, 17 KOs) continues to climb the ranks — and stir the conversation — with fans and analysts alike calling for a rematch between the two rivals.
The outspoken contender believes a second fight with Fundora is not only deserved but inevitable.
“That fight changed everything — for both of us. He can’t erase it, and the fans haven’t forgotten it either,” Mendoza added.
With tensions rising and the division heating up, the boxing world will be watching closely on October 25 — and wondering if Mendoza will be next in line for a shot at redemption… or domination.
