Ghana’s senior men’s national team, the Black Stars, touched down in Accra on Saturday, November 16, 2024, following their 1-1 draw against Angola in their penultimate 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Otto Addo’s team will now regroup for Monday’s final qualifier against Niger after the draw at the 11th November Stadium confirmed that Ghana will not qualify for the AFCON in Morocco.

To qualify, the Black Stars needed a win against Angola and also required a victory in their final game against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium, following a shock 4-0 win for Niger over Sudan that handed them a lifeline.

With no chance of qualifying now, the match against Niger holds no significance for Ghana.

Ghana currently sits at the bottom of Group F with three points, ten behind Angola, five adrift of Sudan, and one below Niger in third.

This marks the first time in 21 years that Ghana will miss the Africa Cup of Nations.
