In videos making waves on social media, Black Sherif showed up in a dark blue and broad white-striped fugu top with shiny, metallic-looking trousers in a copper or bronze tone.

He also had on a matching traditional cap made from the same fabric pattern as the shirt and light-coloured sneakers.

Female celebrities who showed up for Fugu Wednesday

Black Sherif is not a stranger to diverse fashion choices, having appeared on various international runways and making headlines with his fashion choices.

The Wednesday as Fugu Day declaration was made on February 10, 2026, when the attire, also known as Batakari, made trends on social media following an online banter between Ghanaians and Zambians online.

The President had worn fugu during his visit to Zambia, prompting some netizens to describe it as a ‘blouse.’ This led to many Ghanaians taking to social media to spread awareness about the attire. Even leading to calls for the establishment of a “Ghana Fugu Day.”
