Ghanaian defender, Dacosta Antwi, has been named in the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group Stage Best XI, following an outstanding series of performances that helped the Black Satellites top their group with authority in Egypt 2025.

Antwi, a commanding presence at the heart of Ghana’s defence, played every single minute of the group stage campaign, anchoring a backline that proved to be one of the tournament’s most solid units.

With two clean sheets in three matches and just a single goal conceded, his contributions were central to Ghana’s defensive resilience.

Ghana wrapped up the group stage unbeaten, amassing 7 points from three matches to finish first in their group.

Antwi’s leadership and composure under pressure were critical in guiding the team through tightly contested fixtures.

His standout performances did not go unnoticed, as CAF rewarded him with a place in the tournament’s Best XI for the group stage.

He is joined in the elite selection by some of the continent’s brightest young talents, including Levison Banda, Daniel Bameyi, and Momoh Kamara.

Antwi’s inclusion is not only a personal accolade but also a statement of Ghana’s defensive strength heading into the knockout stages.

With performances like his, the Black Satellites are poised to make a deep run in the competition.
