Asante Kotoko supporters were in jubilant mood on Sunday, November 9, 2025, after beating rivals Hearts of Oak 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

For many Asante Kotoko supporters who were at the Accra Sports Stadium, the victory was “sweet” because they have ended the unbeaten run of Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak who were unbeaten in 8 Ghana Premier League games lost narrowly to rivals Asante Kotoko after striker Morifing Donzo converted a first half penalty.

The Porcupine Warriors were awarded the penalty after a clumsy challenge from Amankwah Baafi on Peter Amidu Acquah in the box.

The fans also commended referee Reginald Collins Amoah ruling out Mawuli Wayo’s equalizer for an offside despite the pressure and intimidating atmosphere at the stadium from Hearts of Oak fans.

Asante Kotoko are now 7th on the Premier League table with 14 points but have three outstanding game due to their participating in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Accra Hearts of Oak on the other hand occupy the 5th position on the table with 16 points after 9 games.
