Asante Kotoko have appointed former player, Malik Jabir, as the club’s new technical director.

The club officially announced the appointment of the legendary figure via a post on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that Jabir will replace another club legend, Kwasi Appiah, in the role.

However, the Reds clarified that Kwasi Appiah will retain his position as a member of the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC).

“We are thrilled to announce the appointment of club legend and two-time CAF Champions League winner Malik Jabir as the new technical director of the club.

“Coach James Kwasi Appiah, who recently held the position, will remain a member of the club’s management team,” the statement read.

The appointment is part of broader changes to Asante Kotoko’s organizational structure.

Notably, head coach, Dr. Prosper Ogum Nartey, has been relieved of his duties as a member of the IMC.

According to the club, this decision was made to allow the coach to focus entirely on managing the squad without the added responsibilities of top-level managerial duties.
