Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has officially named a 28-man Black Stars squad for the preparation camp and international friendly against Wales as Ghana step up their build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The squad which opened camp on Monday, May 25, 2026, in Cardiff, gives the Portuguese coach enough time to assess his players ahead of the June 2 friendly. This comes shortly after the Black Stars submitted their provisional squad to FIFA, setting the stage for the final 26-man list.

Several players will be looking to impress during this camp, especially with the Wales game serving as the last major test before the team heads to North America. The encounter is expected to help Queiroz finalise his selections.

Speculation is already growing around the goalkeeping department. With five shot-stoppers in the 28-man squad, it is widely believed that two will be dropped after the Wales friendly. Hearts of Oak’s Solomon Agbasi and Ajax goalkeeper Paul Reverson are reportedly the two most likely to be sent home, per reliable reports reaching Ghanasportsonline.com

Importantly, checks suggest none of the outfield players will be cut, meaning all 23 outfield stars in the current squad are expected to make the final World Cup list. This puts the focus squarely on the goalkeepers as Queiroz looks to settle on his best three.

The Black Stars will face Wales on June 2 before travelling for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they open their Group L campaign against Panama on June 17, followed by England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
