Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo, has called on Ghanaians to throw their support behind the Black Stars as they prepare to face Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Second in the group with 9 points means the Black Stars do not have the luxury of dropping points if they are to represent Africa at the 2026 World Cup.

They continue their quest of securing a ticket to the Mundial against Chad in Accra and Madagascar in Morocco in March 2025.

Despite the huge prospects of qualifying, the Black Stars’ failure to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has left fans disconnected from the team.

However, in a video shared on the social media pages of the Ghana Football Association, Semenyo entreated fans to cheer and support the team during these games.

“As you know, we have our World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, and I’m just reaching out to say, continue praying for us, continue being with us, continue supporting us,” he said.

The Bournemouth forward acknowledged the severity of the games, shared his optimism, and encouraged the fans to be their 12th man.

“We need you more than ever. These two games are so important and crucial for qualification in the World Cup, so please continue praying for us, continue supporting us, be there for us, and support us in the games in March. We look forward to seeing you, and hopefully, we can get two wins,” he added.

Since making his debut in June 2022, Semenyo has gone on to make 25 appearances for the Black Stars, scoring 2 in the process.
