His Eminence, Prophet Samuel Kwaku Agyakwa, Founder and leader of Water of Life For All Nations Church (WALFANC) and the president of the Spiritual Society of Africa (SSA), has posited that angels are messengers of God, acting as intermediaries between man and God.

He emphasised angels send the petitions of man to God, receive answers from God and convey same to man, underscoring their significance in the spiritual life of the believer.

According to him, Angels are of two main categories – benevolent angels working for God and malevolent ones working for the devil.

The WALFANC leader and the Vice Chair of the Ashanti Region Branch, Charismatic Council of Churches and Ministers, Ghana, made these remarks on Republic 97.5 FM on Thursday, 21st November, 2024 while treating the topic “Angels: Who are they?”. Regarding the work of angels, Prophet Agyakwa highlighted different angels performed different task for God. He highlighted “Knowing the exact work of an angel and directing your supplications to that angel evokes quick responses. It’s a fallacy to assume all angels perform same functions”, he clarified.

Expatiating further, Prophet Agyakwa pointed out that, depending on the problems brought before him by a congregant or anyone who appears before him, depicts the angel he would invoke to help the individual. “I’ve 77 Arch Angels that I work with. While Pathiel is the giver of wealth and luck; Raguel is an angel of justice, normally invoked to assist in court cases; Raphael is in charge of healing and travel; Gabriel deals with information delivery to elicit good responses; Anael is in charge of love and marriage life; Gadiel helps in acquiring wealth; Alimon protects people against injury from weapons and Afbrai deals with rain and farming matters”, he hinted.

With the categorisation of the churches, the president of SSA intimated there are differences between Charismatism, Pentecostalism and Spiritual Churches or ‘Sunsum sore’ in the Akan parlance. He adds, “Those of us within the spiritual church fraternity are those who normally deal with angels, invoking their energies to liberate God’s people from spiritual bandages. Every problem is directed to the appropriate angel to help”, he stressed.

Seeking his views on the recent seeming tensions between some men of God, he echoed his disagreements with such posturing, stressing there was no need for such things to arise within the body of Christ. He reiterated the fact that men of God should concentrate on their respective calling, and do as directed by the spirit.

“When God called someone, no one was present. Who are you to condemn other men of God about what and how they do their work? He quizzed, stressing “concentrate on your chosen calling and allow others to also do as they’ve been called to do. We’re all in the business of raising the body of Christ aloft”, he stated.
