Popular Ghanaian media personality, Andy Dosty, has revealed that Shatta Wale once had serious intentions of signing rapper King Paluta to his record label. This was before the latter gained prominence in Ghana’s music scene.

Speaking on the Asetena Pa Podcast hosted by Akoto Mansa, Andy Dosty recounted that Shatta Wale’s interest in King Paluta was sparked after their collaboration on the 2020 hit single “Ahodwo Las Vegas.” At the time, King Paluta was still an emerging talent, yet his standout performance on the track left a lasting impression on Wale.

“The person who wanted to sign King Paluta was Shatta Wale. He really wanted to sign him; at the time, he hadn’t blown and nobody really knew who he was,” Dosty shared.

The Hitz FM presenter disclosed that he was deeply involved in behind-the-scenes talks with Shatta Wale, strategizing how best to nurture and invest in Paluta’s budding career.

“I remember spending close to an hour with Shatta Wale, just talking about King Paluta—how to shape his career and the kind of financial commitment it would take,” he recalled.

During the discussion, King Paluta was reportedly unaware that such high-level discussions were taking place about his future. Despite a strained personal relationship with Shatta Wale, Andy Dosty also played a pivotal role in orchestrating their later collaboration on the song “Adiepena.”

Today, King Paluta stands as one of the most formidable names in Ghanaian music. With a distinctive rap style and lyrical finesse, his rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Over the past two years, he has churned out hit after hit and electrified audiences with his high-energy performances.

With his dominance firmly established, King Paluta is among the artistes who stand a chance of winning the coveted Artiste of the Year title at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, set for May 3, 2025.
