Recent Adu Gyamfi Senior High School graduate Christian Coffie, a gifted young Ghanaian, is requesting financial aid to continue his studies at the esteemed Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His goal of earning a degree in political science is in jeopardy due to financial limitations, even though he performed exceptionally well in the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), earning two 3Bs and five As.

YEN claims that Christian was raised in a modest farming family in Wassa Mampong, which is located in Ghana’s Amenfi East District. The GH¢4,295 required for his tuition and hostel expenses has not been raised despite his parents’ best efforts to obtain the necessary monies. His parents are subsistence farmers.

The young scholar’s academic achievements have earned him a spot at KNUST, one of Ghana’s leading universities, but the financial burden threatens to cost him the opportunity. Christian expressed his determination to succeed despite the challenges, stating that education is his only hope of transforming his life and giving back to his community.

He is now calling on the general public, philanthropists, and organizations to assist him in realizing his dream. “I have worked hard to get this far, and I am committed to making a difference in society. I just need some help to take the next step,” he said.

Christian’s plea has gained attention on social media, with many users empathizing with his situation and encouraging others to support him. His story mirrors the struggles of many bright but financially disadvantaged students in Ghana who face obstacles in accessing higher education.

For those willing to assist, donations can be made directly to Christian or through verified channels to ensure transparency and accountability.

Christian’s journey highlights the importance of creating more accessible education opportunities for underprivileged students. With the right support, he hopes to not only secure his place at KNUST but also inspire others facing similar challenges to persevere.
