Members of the Ghana women’s national football team have safely returned to Ghana after being briefly stranded in the United Arab Emirates following rising tensions in the Middle East.
The Black Queens had travelled to the region to participate in the Pink Ladies Cup but faced travel disruptions at the end of the tournament due to security concerns and flight challenges linked to the regional situation.
Sources at Ghana Sports Online confirmed that players, technical staff, officials and management members of the team were unable to secure direct flights from Dubai to their various destinations abroad.
The situation forced the entire delegation to return to Ghana first before players could continue their journeys to rejoin their respective clubs.
The travel difficulties caused uncertainty for several members of the squad, many of whom ply their trade with clubs outside Ghana and had hoped to fly directly from the UAE to their club bases.
However, the team has now safely arrived in the country, bringing an end to the brief disruption.
Players are expected to depart again in the coming days to rejoin their clubs as domestic and international competitions resume after the international break.
