It’s been a turbulent few days for Manchester United.
After losing the derby at the weekend and Pro Ref chief Howard Webb conceding that Erling Haaland’s match-winning goal shouldn’t have stood, academy starlet JJ Gabriel made a stir yesterday.
The 15-year-old ‘kid Messi’ has asked to leave the club despite it being nailed on that he was going to start tonight’s game. My colleague Luke Power has written about the saga here. It’s well worth a read.
Focus tonight turns to the other youngsters, namely Shea Lacey, and how they will step up. The club will certainly be looking for someone to take the heat off, if only for a moment.
