Aduana FC secured a vital 2-1 victory over defending champions Bibiani GoldStars on Friday, April 11, in their week 29 Ghana Premier League fixture on Friday at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium.

Former Black Starlets captain Benjamin Tsivanyo gave the Ogya Boys the lead in the 59th minute, but Burkinabe forward Razak Sanou levelled the score for GoldStars eighteen minutes later.

In the dying embers of the game, Emmanuel Marfo stepped up again with a late goal to hand the ‘Ogya’ lads the needed three points to end their recent three-game winless streak.

Speaking after the match, Romanian coach Cioaba Aristica admitted there were areas to improve but quickly shifted focus to the bigger picture ahead.

“We want to concentrate and focus on a very important match we will play next week. We will play in the FA Cup next Friday, and we want to go and win that match and go to the finals. I have seen the mistakes from today, and we will work on that before the next game,” he said.

The victory keeps Aduana firmly in the title race, but the Romanian tactician made it clear that his main priority right now is the MTN FA Cup.

Aduana FC will face Nations FC in the semi-final of the MTN FA Cup on Friday, April 17, at the Swedru Sports Stadium, with a place in the final at stake.

Coach Cioaba Aristica and his players will now work on correcting the errors from Friday’s game as they prepare for what promises to be a tough semi-final clash.
