The Black Stars put on a spirited display in their clash with Mali during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on September 8, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Black Stars are now on top of their group with 19 points after beating Mali on matchday 8.

From goalkeeping to attack, the players fought to grind out a result and keep the World Cup qualification dream alive.

Here are GhanaWeb’s Benjamin Sackey’s player ratings after the game.

Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare (6/10) once again showed his authority and composure in the box, organizing the defense and making crucial saves to keep a clean sheet.

In defense, Alexander Djiku (7/10) brought leadership to the area and made vital blocks in and around the penalty box to prevent Mali from scoring a goal. He also scored the only goal to secure Ghana’s victory.
