Gospel artiste Empress Gifty’s legal team says they have forgiven Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, for calling her lawyer a “so-called lawyer”, a comment that previously triggered legal demands for an apology.

Patrick Tawiah-Amprofi, lead counsel for Empress Gifty, initially issued a letter on June 16, 2025, urging Agradaa to retract and apologize after she was captured in a viral video describing him with that phrase following their first court appearance.

However, in a shift of stance during a media briefing on July 16, 2025, Tawiah-Amprofi revealed that both he and his law firm had decided to let the matter go, citing signs of remorse from the controversial preacher.

“The last time we met, I noted that Patricia Asiedua had made some defamatory remarks about me, for which I wrote a statement demanding an apology. I have seen a video in which she apologised. So I want to note that and my law firm and I have forgiven her,” he stated.

This comes amid ongoing legal tensions between the two parties. Empress Gifty, in May 2025, filed a GH¢20 million defamation lawsuit against Agradaa over a live-streamed broadcast in which the evangelist allegedly made vulgar and defamatory accusations, including claims of promiscuity and bestiality.

While the Tema High Court rejected Agradaa’s motion to have the case dismissed in June, ordering her to pay GH¢6,000 in costs, the defamation trial is still scheduled to move forward despite her 15-year prison sentence for fraud.

Meanwhile, after the July 16 hearing, Agradaa’s legal team filed an application requesting the transfer of the case from the Tema High Court to a court in the Eastern Region. They argued that her current incarceration in Nsawam poses significant logistical challenges for her transport to Accra for trial sessions.

    Watch his statement below.
