Billionaire Elon Musk and his DOGE crew are working on deploying a new and untested tool to assist his goal of slashing costs and ‘lazy’ federal workers.

Musk’s team is now proposing the deployment of artificial intelligence to upgrade government systems.

Josh Gruenbaum – head of the Federal Acquisition Service at the General Services Administration (GSA) – revealed how they’re considering utilizing AI ‘in our portfolios.’

That includes ways to cut down on staff around the country, he said.

We’ll be ‘cutting redundant business functions and associated staffing,’ Gruenbaum added, alluding to the potential of AI taking over already-established jobs.

A White House official confirmed to DailyMail.com that more than 40,000 federal works had accepted a federal ‘deferred resignation’ buyout offer before Thursday’s deadline.

Thomas Shedd, a former Tesla engineer who’s now also at the GSA, reportedly held a meeting Monday to outline plans to implement AI into the government.

‘I’m not saying that this is an easy task, but it is a task that’s worth trying to pursue and one that only we can do as an internal team, right? We can’t bring a third party in, hire them and have them work on a project like this. It has to be an internal technology team that works on this,’ Shedd said, according to 404 media, who obtained audio of the meeting.

Shedd also expressed his interest in integrating AI into Social Security to help ‘identify individuals and detect and prevent fraud.’

‘Things are going to get intense,’ he told officials at the meeting.

Government employees told Shedd that files with personal information, like those used by Social Security, could not be shared with other systems without consent because of the Privacy Act of 1974.

Democrats continue protesting Musk and his DOGE mission, as he continues to tear into the federal bureaucracy.

‘No one elected Elon Musk to nothing,’ Sen. Elizabeth Warren cried at a rally with supportive protesters and federal employees on Tuesday.

Musk has only widened his push into government agencies, as his team were granted access to the Medicare and Medicaid payment systems on Wednesday.

He also teased an effort to audit the Internal Revenue Service, after polling his followers on X about the idea.

Trump continues to support Musk’s efforts, as he has been appointed by the president as a special government employee.

Musk’s decision to close USAID triggered more scrutiny on the various outlets and organizations paid by the government entity, including media outlets for subscriptions and other efforts.

Trump accused the ‘FAKE NEWS MEDIA’ of writing ‘PAYOFF’ positive stories about Democrats so they would keep getting funds from government agencies.

‘THIS COULD BE THE BIGGEST SCANDAL OF THEM ALL, PERHAPS THE BIGGEST IN HISTORY!’ Trump wrote in all-caps on social media Thursday morning. ‘THE DEMOCRATS CAN’T HIDE FROM THIS ONE. TOO BIG, TOO DIRTY!’

The president also praised Musk Monday for having ‘very good ideas’ and reassuring Americans that he was monitoring his efforts.

‘Elon can’t do and won’t do anything without our approval,’ Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.

Vice President JD Vance also defended Musk’s efforts, disputing the claim from Democrats that nobody ‘voted’ for the billionaire.

‘They did however vote for Donald Trump who promised repeatedly to have Elon Musk root out wasteful spending in our government,’ he wrote on X.
